The Department of Automation

The predecessor of Automation was the Electrification of Industrial Enterprises. It was initially established in 1958 when the Department of Electrical Engineering of Fuzhou University was built.  The Department of Automation has a second level discipline master degree program of control science and control engineering, which was one of the key disciplines of Fujian province. Our department mainly undertakes the teaching and researches in the areas related to the discipline of control science and engineering. Our aims are to cultivate senior professional postgraduates and undergraduates at all levels.

Currently, our department has a high-level faculty. It has six professors, eight associate professors, four senior lectures. We have undertaken 7 projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one international S&T Cooperation Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, two Key Projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province, 5 general program (Key Program, Major Research Plan) of Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province, and 80 other projects. In addition, we undertake 5 Education Reform Projects. The research results have been awarded the first-level of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 6 other provincial and ministerial education (and technology) Awards. We have published more than 500 research papers. And more than 10 patents have been granted.

The purpose of our professional trainings is to cultivate compound and applied engineering talents of high professional quality, strong comprehensive practical ability, innovation ability, and good social adaptation ability. Our graduates have professional knowledge in the areas of motion control, process control, automation instruments and equipment, intelligent monitoring system and etc. They are able of working  in the enterprises, research institutes and other related departments, engaged in engineering design, applied research, technology development, system operation management and maintenance, enterprise management, scientific research, and teaching work.
