The current Department of Electrical Engineering can be traced back to the major of Electric Machines and Electric Apparatus in 1958 when Fuzhou University was established. There are now 16 teachers in this department, including 8 professors, 5 associate professors, and 3 assistant professors. Most of the professional teachers have their doctorates, and some of them have the experience of working in the world-known universities such as Imperial College London, Virginia Tech and etc. The department focuses on the theory and new technology of electrical engineering, covering the following topics: electric machines and control, electric apparatus, smart grid, power electronics, renewable source technique, measurement and signal processing technology. The department is strongly sustainable in the scientific research and the personnel training, and offers English-instructed PhD and Master programs for foreign students.
